  KRAKÓW, Poland (BP) -- The twisting of my gut was expected, but it was much deeper than I had imagined. Standing in the place where Nazi Germans murdered more than a million Jews and thousands of other people deemed undesirable, I could not escape the feeling. This wave of emotion flooded over me as I walked through the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum, near Kraków, Poland, the city my wife and I have moved to in order to serve with the IMB.

  NASHVILLE (BP) -- Americans could see a disruption in the nation's Bible supply if President Trump enforces tariffs on printed materials from China, according to Christian publishers.

  The 25 percent tariff on books -- part of a long list of tariffs proposed by President Trump as tensions with China escalated in recent months -- would effectively be a "Bible Tax," according to Mark Schoenwald, president of HarperCollins Christian Publishing, which owns both Thomas Nelson and Zondervan.   WESSON, Miss. (BP) -- Every week a small group of World War II and Korea veterans meet in Wesson, Miss., to drink coffee, maybe eat lunch, swap stories and remember comrades who died. But Ralph Calcote no longer joins the Greatest Generation Coffee Club, having died at age 95 on May 9.

  NASHVILLE (BP) -- Baptist minister C.C. Davison encountered recently drafted soldier Grover Cleaver Sept. 12, 1918, on the back steps of an Army mess hall. Grover appeared dejected over the telegram announcing his mother's death. Sitting on the steps, Davison wrote in Arkansas' Baptist Advance newsjournal, "I marked for him a tract furnished by our Sunday School Board" and "led him to the Savior." A month later, Cleaver was dead.

  ALBANY, Ga. (BP) -- Evangelicals were introduced to a new level of faith-based filmmaking 15 years ago when brothers Alex and Stephen Kendrick released "Flywheel," a $20,000-budget film using church members as the cast and production crew to convey biblical truth.

  "We're just amazed at what the Lord's done with it," Alex Kendrick told Baptist Press.

  The brothers, who served on staff at Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Ga., went on to produce "Facing the Giants," "Fireproof," "Courageous" and "War Room." Read More
